I Love You Because

I Love You, Because I Love You
I had been dealing with some pain and hurt from my childhood during this time in my life. I just kept struggling with some issues and was feeling down.
It was Sunday morning and I had planned to go to church as usual when a friend called. We talked all morning so I missed church. I had met him once at a coffee shop where he was preforming. I loved his singing so any time he came to town I went to see him. He wrote his own songs and I could really connect with his words. I was fairly new at writing so needless to say when he asked me to come see him in Las Vegas to help him write a song… I jumped at the chance and agreed to go but the Lord has other plans for me. Short story is… I ended up not going so I decided to go to a service that evening to another church that I visited from time to time.
It was not a normal service because it was father’s day. They were having a special presentation for the fathers of the church. All the children had drawn pictures for their dads and they were showing them with an overhead projector. Even though it was a special service for their church family, I decided to stay. All the children when drawing their pictures also wrote a special message to their dads. When their turn came each child would get up and read their message as they showed their pictures.
It was a very touching time hearing all the messages and seeing all the drawings but one message, as simple as it was, spoke volumes to me. A little boy simply said "Daddy, I love you, because I love you." From out of the mouth of babes, came words that rang in my ears, touched my heart and stayed with me all night. Such simple words with so much meaning. Of course I heard a song in it. Of course no other name would do but, "I love You, because I love You"
In Ps 30:5 is says, Weeping may endure for the night, but joy will come in the morning. During my time with the Lord the next morning, I turned to Ps 18. My heart, my eyes, my life was changed.
It doesn't matter who, or how I was personally hurt as a child or even as a woman. What matters is He has brought light into my darkness. He has given me joy in my sadness, He has healed my pain, He has filled those empty holes in my spirit and I am whole in Christ my Lord. Ps 18: 23 says "I am blameless before God; I have kept myself from sin. The Lord rewarded me for doing what is right, because of the innocence of my hands in his sight.
Here is the song I wrote:

I LOVE YOU, BECAUSE I LOVE

I love you, because I love you
Such wisdom, in a simple way
In innocence are words of love
To God, from the mouth of babes.
I love you, because I love you
In a childlike faith I see
His arms are reaching out to give
A Daddy’s love for me

I heard the words of a little child
Daddy, I love you because, I love you
With simple words he let him know
What I’m sure he already knew.
The words, burned a memory in my heart
In my hurt I was chained and bounded
The words that healed this child in pain,
In my Daddy’s, arms I’m found.

I love you, because I love you
Such wisdom, in a simple way
In innocence are words of love
To God, from the mouth of babes.
I love you, because I love you
In a childlike faith I see
His arms are reaching out to give
A Daddy’s love for me

Have you ever wanted the faith of a child?
Pure in heart, in an insolence way
To love your Daddy, just because
And to trust Him everyday.
I’ll always remember the simple words
Through the eyes of a child it’s true
To climb in the arms of God and say
Daddy, I love you, because I love you

I love you, because I love you
Such wisdom, in a simple way
In innocence are words of love
To God, from the mouth of babes.
I love you, because I love you
In a childlike faith I see
His arms are reaching out to give
A Daddy's love for me.
